Contacts / Sub-Accounts
If you're not managing the account alone – say, a colleague handles billing, or someone else is your go-to for technical matters – you don't have to share your own password with them. Instead, you can add contacts (and, if needed, sub-accounts) to your account.
What's the difference between a contact and a sub-account
- Contact: a person's details (name, email, phone, role) whom we notify about certain events (e.g. billing, technical alerts), but who doesn't have their own login to the portal.
- Sub-account: the same as a contact, but they additionally get their own login access to your account, with limited permissions – meaning they can log in and handle things themselves, under your oversight.
Adding a contact
- Log in, then go to My Account → Contacts.
- Click "Add New Contact".
- Enter their name, email address, phone number, and their role (e.g. Billing, Technical, Domain).
- Choose which notifications they should receive (e.g. only billing emails, or everything).
- Save it.
Setting permissions
If you'd like the contact to be able to log in themselves (i.e. become a sub-account), turn on access while editing the contact, and pick exactly what they can see or manage:
- viewing/opening support tickets,
- viewing invoices,
- viewing services,
- managing domains,
and so on – only grant what they actually need for their role.
!!! tip It's a good idea to start with the minimum permissions needed for their job, and expand later if it turns out they need something more – that's much safer than opening everything up at once.
For the actual invitation process (how a contact gets their own login), see inviting a new user.
